Andy Gipson is Mississippi’s Proven Conservative Leader.

  • Mississippi Agriculture and Commerce Commissioner, 2018 to present.  
  • Served as a leading conservative policymaker in the Mississippi legislature 2008-2018.
  • In private life a longtime cattleman and tree farmer, as well as an ordained Baptist minister and a successful business attorney and deal-maker for over 20 years.
  • Constitutional Conservative – multiple year Conservative Legislator of the Year; passed Religious Freedom for Mississippians.
  • Pro-Life Leader – Initiated and Passed House Bill 1510 that overturned Roe v. Wade and closed the last abortion clinic in Mississippi.
  • Defender of the Second Amendment  – Wrote and passed every major piece of Mississippi gun rights legislation 2012 – 2018; NRA Defender of Freedom Award Recipient.
  • Fought to stop the Legislature from raising taxes on workers, farmers and businesses across Mississippi; opposes future tax increases.
  • Strong Supporter of Law Enforcement; passed the Back the Badge Act; multiple year Law Enforcement Legislator of the Year.
  • Proven Executive Agency experience – successfully fighting crime and getting results for Mississippi through the MDAC’s law enforcement agency, the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau.
  • Proven Fiscal Conservative; successfully consolidated three agencies into one, saving taxpayer dollars.
  • Proven Leader in times of disaster; kept agency operations going throughout the COVID pandemic; successfully worked with other agencies to provide Fairgrounds Well Water during the Jackson Water Crisis.
  • Strong leadership for the State of Mississippi, while also serving as a leader in his Church as Pastor and in his local community.
  • Husband for 24 years to Leslie, and Father to their four great children.  The Gipsons live on their small farm in Simpson County.
